A Critical Hiring Prediction for 2023
The end of the year is here again, and it’s time for every recruiter, sourcer, or talking head to figure out, “What will hiring in 2023 look like?”
After years of what feels like never-ending change, it’s natural to want to get a grasp on something specific. We want to be able to look months ahead and know that we’re prepared for whatever might come our way.
I am grateful that I had the opportunity to connect with Leah Daniels, Lex Kremer, and Dana Neiger via JobSync’s Monthly Roundtable about this subject. There was something that I think went unsaid or was obscured in my “predictions” for 2023.
I am still determining what the year will look like. It is safe to safe that “I have no idea what 2023 will look like.”
For instance, no one predicted we would get hit with a pandemic.
I didn’t know there would be a culmination of years of frustration with the world of work. Nor that there would be a remote work revolution. Please queue Joel Lalgee’s accurate (and satirical) appreciation and “somewhat divine” ability to see this coming.
And even if I had guessed that “Quiet Quitting” would be a thing, we likely couldn’t have fully prepared for it.
