Is the cover letter dead?

So conflicted on this.

Like I don’t read them always, but I think of a dozen reasons why they make sense:

😮 While they may not be as important as they once were, they can still be a valuable addition to your job application and can help you stand out from other candidates.

😮 A cover letter is a chance for you to introduce yourself to the hiring manager, highlight your qualifications and skills, and explain why you are the best fit for the job.

😮 It’s a way to show your personality and demonstrate your enthusiasm for the position. While it may not be required for every job, it can be a helpful tool to have in your job search arsenal.

😮 A cover letter is a chance to introduce yourself to the manager, highlight your most relevant qualifications, and explain why you are interested in the position.

😮 It is a way to make a good impression and show that you are a serious candidate.

😮 Even if the employer does not require a cover letter, it can be helpful to include one because it demonstrates your professionalism and attention to detail.

😮 While it is true that some employers may not place a lot of weight on the cover letter, it is still an important part of the job application process. It is a way to show your enthusiasm for the job and to demonstrate your written communication skills.

Therefore, it is a good idea to include a cover letter when you apply for a job, unless the employer specifically states that they do not want one.
