Thank you, Recruiters
Dear Esteemed Members of the Recruiting Community,
I’m reaching out to you from the wellspring of my gratitude, drawn out not just by the pen on this paper (or rather, fingers on keyboard), but by the unyielding admiration and respect I bear for all of you.
As you may have heard (because let’s be honest, I’ve been as subtle as a firework in a library), my book has seen the light of day. An exhilarating project, a labor of love, a distillation of hard-learned insights, and a whirlwind adventure wrapped in the enigmatic cover of a hardbound jacket.
The experience, to put it mildly, was like surfing on the gnarly waves of a tumultuous sea while trying to sip a flat white without staining my shirt — not for the faint-hearted, but equally filled with moments of pure, adrenaline-fueled joy. You’d think that writing about recruitment would be dry and uneventful, but trust me, it’s been anything but that. And it’s all because of you.
Throughout this endeavor, the unsung heroes have been each and every one of you in the recruiting community. You’ve been my bulwark against the storm, my lighthouse in the fog, and my SpaceX Starship in the vast expanse of writer’s block (yes, Elon, I am still waiting for my free ride to Mars).
You’ve shared your stories, offered your wisdom, and served as my inspiration. You’ve asked tough questions that made me re-evaluate my perspectives and pushed me towards a deeper understanding of our shared profession. My book is a tapestry, woven with threads of your collective expertise, experiences, and voices. You are the invisible co-authors, the silent partners in this journey of mine.
Our profession is often seen as one shrouded in dry processes, numerical targets, and cold emails, but we know it to be a crucible of human connection, emotional intelligence, and the relentless pursuit of opportunity. You’ve shown me that, and I hope my book, in some small way, is a testament to that reality.
What’s clear is that without you, without this irreplaceable community, my book would be akin to a Christmas tree without the trimmings — still standing, but bereft of the glittering magic that brings it to life.
In writing this book, I’ve grown and learned more than I could have imagined. And for that, I owe you an incalculable debt of gratitude. Your support, your wisdom, your willingness to share — these are the sparks that ignited the pages of my book.
So here’s to you, the brilliant minds and passionate hearts of the recruiting community. My words are but a mirror reflecting your brilliance. I look forward to continuing our journey together, to learning from you, and hopefully, to giving back in kind.
Thank you. From the deepest reserves of my heart, thank you. Your support has been the most epic ride of my life. And it’s just the beginning.
With deepest gratitude and respect,
brian
P.S. Let’s not stop here. I’m thinking of writing another one. Thoughts?
